Big Buildings

I had a great time at the museums today. I learned tons of stuff about our nations capital and I got to see the declaration of independence.
I couldn't believe how big some of the buildings and monuments were! I couldn't imagine how hard it must have been to build them.

No Rain

Today was the first day in DC. Thankfully there was no rain, but there was plenty of walking. We saw the Smithsonian and Ford's Theatre, along with a tour of the Capitol, including being able to sit in the gallery of the House of Representatives conference room. For supper we were on the Miss Christin boat with a dj for about two hours. Then we all checked into the hotel, followed by seven other charter buses. Gettyburg yesterday was a very special experience. Seeing the battlefields that were part of the Civil War, and seeing the land that was in the movies we watched in primetime. Unfortunately, tomorrow is the last day of the trip, but there is still a lot to do before we head home!

Josiah's Notes

Yesterday we went to a small cemetery in Gettysburg and had paper and a pencil. We put the paper on top of two graves and scribbled on the paper which then the Soldier from Ohio their name was on the paper. Several hours later a tour guide came on the bus and told us about The battle, people, and the buildings. The guide also told and showed how the cannons worked, what kind of ammo it used, and what kind the cannon is. He also took us to places where famous battles took place like little round top. Some places we didn't go to we saw. We also went inside monuments. Sometimes it took forever just to reach the top. The guide took us to a really high tower to show us how high ground is like. I was really tired when I got to the top. It was an awesome view, now I know how it feels like to be on high ground. The guide asked questions on the bus I answered one correctly and he gave me a bullet made out of lead. He then left us so we went to the Dobblin House to eat. After eating we went with our shaperones to go shopping I got a Confederate Dog Tag. We then at 8:00 PM Went with a ghost story guide and walked around Gettysburg while he was telling us ghost stories. He said that it haunted the people that saw the horror. Today people still see the ghosts and strange things happen to the houses that are still here today and here during Gettysburg. There are bullet marks in several houses and a cannonball in one house.

Incredible Day

Today was pretty incredible. The site of washingon D.C was pretty cool. We
missed A part of the smithsonian because of time. The capital was not as
exciting as I thought it would be. We sat around for probably 45 minutes
beacause of some organization and other issues. The gallery of the house
was really cool. We made few stops And when we did we had to get off fast.
The highlight of my day was the National Archives. Being able to see the
penmanship of the authors who wrote the greatest documents of our nation's
history.

A Full Day

Yesterday we went to Gettysburg. While we were walking around the cemetary with our guide, it started pouring down rain so we had to run to our us. We also viewed the battlefield of Gettysburg. We saw little round top, devil's den, and Hell's kitchen. We were told stories about how some people died and what happened to them afterward. We had a ghost tour around Gettysburg. It was really fun. We heard many stories and while we were listening to one Jax sneaked up on Kasie and scared her. It was so funny. We then got checked into the hotel nd went to bed. I can't wait to see DC and more, especially the Holocaust!

Gettysburg

Yesterday we got to Gettysburg about 1:00 pm. The rest of the day was spent touring the battle field that I've heard so much about.but all that shrinks down to nothing compared to the opportunity to walk on the battle field that so many men died upon. Hearing about the round tops cemetery hill and cemetery ridge all gave me no feeling of the horror that happened In July here in Gettysburg. The guide that talked to us had remade bullets that he gave out for some questions that we answered. I got one. After the tour we ate and went on a ghost tour. I didn't like it to me it was stupid but that's just my opinion. we went to bed at 11:00 and now we are exhausted.

The First Day

The other day, we went to Gettysburg and it was very interesting. We were on a bus for a long time and we learned all about the three day battle. At the end, there was a chance to win an authentic bullet, but everyone else got the answers before I could. :( At night, we went on a tour of Gettysburg and learned all about the ghosts that supposibly haunted Gettysburg. Over all Gettysburg was a cool place and I liked.
